Nanochannels in Photoactive Cu(I) Polymer for Selective Oxidations in Aqueous Micelles

Gallou, Fabrice (2021) Nanochannels in Photoactive Cu(I) Polymer for Selective Oxidations in Aqueous Micelles. ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng, 9 (7). pp. 2854-2860.

Abstract

we have performed catalytic redox events using heterogenous copper-based polymeric material in water as a sustainable reaction medium. The catalyst is recyclable, and their nanochannels allow the micelle of PS-750-M to travel through to perform catalysis, avoiding the need for toxic dipolar-aprotic solvents. The computational studies assisted in establishing reaction conditions, which are reproducible at variable scales. The need to develop this sustainable heterogeneous catalyst that only uses molecular oxygen as an oxidant meets all the standards established by the ACS GCIPR. More reports on visible light-mediated heterogenous micellar catalysis will be published soon.
