Abstract

Efficient asymmetric syntheses of (–)-(S,S)-homaline and (–)-(R,R)-hopromine have been achieved using the
conjugate addition of enantiopure N-3-chloropropyl substituted lithium amides to alpha,beta-unsaturated esters as
the key step.
