Abstract
A novel quantitative NMR method, FIXPUL, is developed based on the use of optimal flip angle of 116° calibrated for the external standard without subsequent pulse width calibration for every sample. The optimal flip angle is derived from theoretical analysis of signal intensity as a function of 90° pulse width and actual flip angle when a fixed pulse length is applied. FIXPUL method can be applied on most basic NMR spectrometers, and is robust and easily automated for improved through-put. The method can be applied to a wide range of NMR sample conditions and may also find potential applications in quantitative MR Imaging and in vivo MR Spectroscopy for small animals.
