First Asymmetric Palladium-Catalyzed Fluoro-arylation of Styrenes

Mckenna, Jeff, Talbot, Eric, Toste, F. Dean and Fernandes, Talita (2014) First Asymmetric Palladium-Catalyzed Fluoro-arylation of Styrenes. Asymmetric Palladium-Catalyzed Directed intermolecular Fluoro-arylation of Styrenes, 136. pp. 4101-4104.

Abstract

A mild catalytic asymmetric direct fluoro-arylation of styrene has been developed: in the presence of Selectfluor and a boronic acid, chiral mono-fluorinated compounds are synthesized in good yield and in high enantiomeric excess. This reaction is the first to achieve such a transformation and synthisize an sp3 C-F bond in this manner and which we believe proceeds via Pd(IV) intermediate
